What is it you think I want to hear?
We run through life at a hundred miles an hour forgetting what this whole journey is for: connecting, learning and growing. In an effort to honour that gift I set out this week with an agenda to have no fixed schedule but to fill every moment with joy. I also, being conscientious of that, noticed how often others limited my moment to moment experience with stuff that wasn’t mine, assuming I’m not already really busy.
Now this was a week of hard work, enjoyable, inspiring, loving service, combined with conversations with beautiful friends and family… that was one of my prerequisite components to achieve the experience I was looking for… but this is briefly what I got:
Exactly what is it you think I want to hear?
Authenticity means allowing the soul to be stripped naked and vulnerable… showing feelings, not suppressing ego; letting the raw, pure self rise, fears and all into a loving, accepting open forum for healing… but all bar one of my undeniably amazing friends (thank you Sue), decided that they would pretend to have already absorbed and applied the wisdom and this time it was different.
Now you may think I’m being sceptical here until you understand that just hours later the repetitive patterns restarted in each of them.
There’s a reason that we go around the boulder time and time again instead of flowing gently downstream towards new experiences and that is simply: denial.
“I’m ascending” spoken aloud, proclaimed for all to hear, (or whatever specific words are used to express the sentiment of growth and change), is the ego’s way of convincing others that they are moving up in the world or the imaginary hierarchy of souls. It’s a symptom of a lack of self-worth and a red light to a lack of self-work.
You have nothing to prove to me. You have nothing to prove to anyone except to yourself (God within you) and no matter how loud you shout “this time it’s different” your soul will quietly sit back and watch your ego jump through every hoop and fly the trapeze at the circus knowing full well that there is always more work to do.
When you come to me and speak the words aloud “I’m drowning,” or something like it, when you no longer need to pretend you’re ok when you’re not, that’s when the authentic voice – stripped naked, takes over and ascension really begins.
You have to face the darkness in order to shine your light.
Principles 1: I AM God, & 4: I AM Truth.
