Let Spirit Fill In The Details

Have you ever been in that situation where you feel a calling to do something different but you really have no clue how to make the transition from where you are, to where you want to be? Can you surrender the struggle enough to let spirit fill in the details?

The calling and the codependency

More and more over the last year I’ve been asked to help women with imbalanced relationships or codependency issues to find self-love through The Grail. I myself found my own way out of a really unhealthy entanglement with the aid of it’s Principles. Just this weekend, I’ve heard from four such brave women. They have either found their way out, or are waking up to the fact that they have a choice to experience balanced, reciprocal, mutual and fulfilling connections. Not just in their romantic lives, but within all their friendships, partnerships, business connections and family dynamics.

The nudge and the shimmy

I know that, looking back through my history, this is a calling and I also know that The Universe has been nudging me gently towards working more in this area for some time. The trouble is, I’ve been so hazy with the details of how I should shimmy on over into that sector without losing a beat or without compromising the bigger picture of my spiritual teaching. I was simply asked by spirit to trust and to remain open.

Control and contrivance

If you are anything like me, (control freak alert), even in the wisdom of how spirit works miracles in your life, you may still be desperately trying to contrive those miracles to make the leap into your chosen calling… but here’s the thing: the more you contrive, the more you travel in circles.

Let spirit fill in the details

I let go of the proverbial steering wheel a few months ago and just got on with the day to day task of building in the background, and lo and behold, in comes an influx of the exact community of women that I’m meant to be helping. I did nothing except surrender the trying. What did ring an alarm bell for me though, was the fact that some of them were surprised that I was the perfect person to help them and that my apparent expertise in the area had, until now, gone unnoticed.

So often people think that a spiritual teacher is a bit woo woo and airy fairy and doesn’t live in the real world. I’ve spent the last 8 years taking the teachings of my spiritual guides and angels, and as instructed, honing that wisdom into real, life-transformational tools to build self-esteem, self-love, self-worth and balanced relationships. Its all coming together now, but I wish I could say I did that… I did the background work of perfecting my craft and living the Grail for myself so that I could experience first-hand the contrast between codenpendency and self-love, but the truth is: I let spirit fill in the details.

Let go and reach out

There are two things I want to leave you with:

  1. If you are trying to make the transition from the life you have to the life you want, just keep choosing the next inspired action and let spirit do the work of bringing in the opportunities.
  2. If you are one of the brave women out there who is ready to love more and find personal freedom and fulfillment in all her relationships, reach out, I may have the guidance you need.

You might also like to check out the Dragon Reading this week for a synchronous message about healing from codependency and taking the next step into love.

First Monday Of The Month Challenge – Carrying Creation

Was it Atlas that carried the world on his shoulders? I’m sure you are familiar with the image. Regardless of how ripped his muscles and how adept at holding the globe he may have become, the longer he balances it up there, the heavier it gets… and you might just have been performing your own strong man balancing act for a little too long.

It’s a beautiful May Day Bank Holiday and that must mean that its also the first Monday of the month, or as I like to call it: Challenge Day! And as I look around I’m witnessing loved ones, friends and clients scrambling to keep their proverbial balls in the air as their creations: physical, intellectual and emotional, are beginning to crush them by the sheer gravity afforded each one.

When you create something: a persona, a home, a relationship, a family, a career, a business (especially one with a bloody website), a work of art, etc… that creation begins to develop a life of its own… and life is expansive by nature, which means it grows. That growth can only be sustained so far by you alone before it begins to crush you or you drop it and let it crumble.

Notice I said “by you alone.”

Unlike Atlas, you are not alone in your efforts carrying creation, and your challenge this May Day Monday (and everyday that follows) is to let go of what’s crushing you and ask for help with what’s left that you most cherish so that it may continue to grow. You maybe blind to the support available to you right now, you may have no idea how someone might be able to help you, if not with the obvious burden, perhaps by taking some of the more everyday tasks off your hands.

It really bloody hard to keep your plates spinning when you are trying to build the plate rack!

Principle 5: I AM Liberated from The Wholly Grail

I hope you enjoyed my bevy of mixed metaphors there and don’t forget that if you need some more personal guidance you can book a session with me here or a personal card reading across at my other site here.

Happy May Day… x

Monday Musings – A Dent In The Drum

I just woke up from an incredibly vivid dream in which I was a choreographer at a national dance competition! My team, made up of amazing kids and adults alike, were at varying standards and levels of competency.

A member of a rival dance team had just had a major failure in front of the judge’s and I was attempting to hold out an olive branch by giving her reassurance, but her team mates were lessening the impact of the interaction by jeering, assuming my compassion to be disingenuous and thus attempting to compound the rivalry between teams.

A member of my team was next up, but a prop from her routine had been tampered with by the rivals and was now assumed to be a hazard (though no evidence presented itself). At the last moment, as I entered the arena to watch and support my next dancer, I realised that someone had set up a completely different set of props and switched the dance to new choreography whilst my back was turned… I was horrified but the music had begun, the judges were in place and she was poised in the middle of the floor ready to dazzle…

The new dance, one I hadn’t choreographed, had her tying the ankles of a fellow dancer, but the pre-tied restraint prop malfunctioned and she was now a full 8 count behind in the unfolding story. It was a mess. The whole piece ended with her banging on two rainbow coloured kettle drums to the beat of the music but she was handed giant metalic ladles to use. Every strike left a dent in the drum, the damage was irrevocable, the dance was a disaster and I was mortified on her behalf.

When she left the floor I ran to comfort her as I had the other team’s member, but once she was out of ear shot my first question to the rest of my team was “who authorised that routine?” I went on to say that the more ornate the set the more elements can go wrong, the more props and technical equipment involved the more potential for disaster… winning dances are derived from simple, unfettered elegance and technical brilliance… and I finished my lecture with the very frank statement: “when you over-complicate you fail.”

The elements of the dream were simple: I took my eye off the ball and focused on someone who could not hear me because others were shouting louder and they didn’t trust my intentions, meanwhile my own message was not only distorted but completely transformed whilst my back was turned. The badly tied ankles slowed the dance down and every time the drum was struck (or a communication attempted) using the wrong tools for the job, the message was damaged even more… the dancer left the floor heartbroken.

Surprisingly the other team didn’t didn’t heckle, they were just as dismayed by the disaster as my team… the only one not dismayed was me… I knew the responsibility was mine and simple resolved to never enter a competition again until all my team had the same level of focus, commitment and belief in the dance I’d created and until the rival team recognised that we weren’t their rivals but in fact their partners in driving the evolution of their choreography.

You may be wondering what that was all about… well, in terms of The Grail, here are the relevant Principles... Principle 1: I AM God reminds you of your divinity even when you feel less than your brilliant self, Principle 2: I AM Detached keeps you focused on the here and now, what’s important and what’s in front of you, Principle 3: I AM Human, asks you to forgive your mistakes and those of others, take responsibility for your action and your failures, Principle 4: I AM Truth tells the story of believing in your own message even when others don’t, Principle 5: I AM Liberated demonstrates how material (props) can encumber your progress and freedom, Principle 6: I AM Self-Full reminds you to take care of you and yours first, and finally Principle 7: I AM Open-Hearted… rivalry is a losers game and sometimes you have to be willing to offer support and compassion to all the dancers on the universal dance floor regardless of what team they are on… everyone is family.

I may have made another dent in the drum here, but it’s my drum.

Wishing you simple, pure, graceful choreography today, and the support and respect of every team dancing… x

In The Presence Of Heroes

Many of you have them, heroes that is. Perhaps those in the media, those in powerful positions within your industries or interests, but how many of your heroes exist within your current circle of friends?

I feel very blessed to know quite a few, what I call, everyday heroes. People who inspire me day in, day out with extraordinary feats of endurance, patience, forgiveness, strength of character and the ability to break through personal barriers in their own lives and I am genuinely grateful for each of them.

When you focus on what needs to transform within your own life, often it’s difficult to see a way to break through old conditioning… My mum has this saying that makes me laugh “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” which is basically her way of saying she can’t be bothered to break an old habit if it requires effort, but there are times when you genuinely don’t know how to start. This is the time when you call upon your heroes and ask yourself: “What do I admire about them?” “What attributes would I like to emulate in my own life?”

If you are surrounded by heroes then you too are blessed because you naturally begin to morph into the same vibration as those you spend your time with. If however, you find yourself spending the majority of your time with the victim brigade then guess where your energy is headed? A few of you will be strong enough to pull the crowd up by the bootstraps into the 5th dimension but most will be betting against losing odds. So here’s the thing… place yourself in the presence of heroes.

When it comes to The Wholly Grail, Principle 4: I AM Truth asks that you follow your own star and so emulating your heroes might seem counter-intuitive, but when you have identified and are focused on the star, it’s helpful if someone is around to demonstrate how to tie the rope and lasso the one with your name on it!

The heroes in your life will show you how, tell you you can,  cheer you on whilst you try and open the champagne when you succeed… The heroes are my kind of people.

More later… x

Ship Ahoy!

Conversing as I regularly do with God yesterday in meditation, His first question to me was “What did you do?” He’s more than used to me scuppering His plans and so having to recalculate an alternative route, so I’m sure He runs multiple scenarios before He even lets a doorway or new pathway open up to me… I, for the most part, enjoy making God’s existence more difficult… or is that my existence? It’s all the same as the highest version of me is God anyway.

So, what did I do? I yelled “Enough already!” to the apparent distractions that will never be any more than just that.

Imagine for a moment that you are sitting in a small rowing boat in the middle of a vast ocean when all of a sudden a storm hits… the little boat is thrashing about and the last wave washed away your oars leaving you vulnerable and in danger of drowning… in the distance is an ocean liner. This vast shiny white beacon of hope is trapping at speed and seemingly unperturbed by the angry sea, heading toward some far away port in the sunshine… and you need help…

Screaming (inside and out) and waving your arms in the air to get the captain’s attention, hoping desperately that he will take just a few minutes and a slight course correction to pull alongside your swiftly disintegrating dingy to ensure that you will survive the remains of the storm… and there he is… Ship ahoy!

Quickly the captain acts: retrieving his set of red flags he sets about waving back at you as his ship sails on by at speed… and what does this semaphore include? Wait for it, wait for it… the most efficient way to bail out a sinking boat! Thanks captain.

This is the moment where you have to think on your feet… do you: a) keep screaming and waving your arms wasting vital breath and resources or do you b) remember you know how to swim and use that energy and deep breath to dive in and take your chances with the ocean?

God asked me another question at this point: “What do you want?” Oh so many trivial responses arose and fell within that split second but then one thing stuck… “security and guarantees.” I knew my answer was the one thing life wasn’t designed to give me but I also knew this much: staying in the boat, trying to read semaphore while the ocean liner sailed by, I was guaranteed to drown… jumping overboard there was a slim chance I might make it to the shore before I ran out of breath… but the shore is in the opposite direction to the captain’s red flags and big shiny ship.

What did I do? I dived… of course I dived. So now I’ve gone from ship ahoy! to man overboard!… and the captain can wave his flags all he likes on the brand new topic of optimum techniques for breaststroke and how to increase lung capacity on the next in-breath so that drowning is postponed a little longer. It doesn’t make any difference when you’re focused fully on saving yourself from the next wave…

The ship moves faster than you do, if it doesn’t alter course it doesn’t matter, ultimately that’s the captain’s decision.

So me and Big G are sitting there in meditation and He’s neither surprised nor pissed at me for ballsing up His master plan, He’s just smiling gently recognising that the storm has subsided and the shore is so much closer than I know… That the ocean is in fact Him in disguise… and the shiny white ship is just as susceptible to the right kind of wave as my little boat is… and that the captain wafts his red flags about because to bring that liner up close and personal… if it capsizes… well, he doesn’t know how to swim yet.

Right, I’m off now to take mum to see a vascular surgeon after her stroke last week. Thank you to all those boats that pulled alongside.
