Overcoming Fear However Long It Takes

It’s taken me years to get to this point. I’ve been putting off doing the things that scare me for so long that the actually transition from what was to what now is, seemed more like a tiny cosmic fart than a big deal, when it actually came down to it. Overcoming fear however long it takes, is your primary mission in following your own soul’s guidance.

Yes I’ve been putting off launching my Grail Temple Membership for about 5 years now. The technology has been in place on my website (I’ve even been paying for it to just sit there in the background), but I’ve only just this Solstice weekend finally hit the launch button and made it fully live to members.

We make such a big deal about the unknown in our own minds that we not only deprive ourselves of a learning experience but what we haven’t considered is that we deprive others as well. Especially when it comes to sharing our gifts with the world.

In Grail terms, we go through many stages of fear before we leap into the unknown. We ask the ineveitable questions:

  • Who am I to do that? (Principle 1)
  • What if it doesn’t work out and all turns to shit? (Principle 2)
  • Can I get over it if I fail? (Principle 3)
  • Will I be judged and will they get it? (Principle 4)
  • Will I become a slave to my own creation? (Principle 5)
  • How will it affect my health, happiness and wellbeing? (Principle 6)
  • What if I get nothing out of it when I put in so much? (Principle 7)

For me it was Principle 5 that tripped me up for years… I became a commitment-phobe and couldn’t reconcile the sheer amount of work it would take to manage and maintain the project, let alone create content for it. But then something dawned on me: I was doing all those things anyway but not actually in a way that would allow me to embrace Principle 7… there was no way for me to get anything out of it in return. My reserves were depleted and it was entirely my own doing. My fear didn’t stop me from giving, it just stopped me from receiving in balance.

The Grail is about overcoming fear however long it takes, so that you can live life in balance and remake your world the way you want it. It’s hard to see sometimes, just exactly what you are denying yourself in the name of self-preservation, or just exactly how much better life can be if you just let go of the handbrake and take the leap.

The transition was simple for me because over the years I was already delivering what I had always intended to… I just needed to package it in a more comprehensive way. But just because it was simple doesn’t mean it was easy… I still broke out in a cold sweat when I jumped!

If you want to learn how to overcome those questions and fears too, now you can, right here.

The Opposite Of Happiness

It struck me recently that at times life appears to herd you into a pen or down a narrow funnel into a situation that you didn’t choose… well at least not consciously anyway. Although at these times you’re focused on a desired outcome in one direction, your life around you seems to get tighter and tighter where you took your eye off the ball. At these moments you are forced to scramble to save what you have or to let go completely and lose everything, potentially risking bag lady status.

One of the problems at these junctures is that there are no guarantees at all of success in either direction. Focusing on saving yourself from falling guarantees a repeat pattern but not an improvement, and letting go completely guarantees losses but no actual gains. The only real guidance you have at a time like this is how the journey feels.

Fear is the shepherd that will coax you towards the opposite of happiness, but it can disguise itself as temporary relief. Relief is a skilled liar that will lull you into believing all is well when really all that is occurring is a short stay of execution. Dramatic I know, but think about it… are you scrambling to save everything you have because you are afraid of having less? Isn’t that settling for mediocre?

The Wholly Grail’s Principle 5: I AM Liberated asks you to let go of all that keeps you from living your most precious dream, and holding onto the opposite of happiness just because you are terrified your most precious dream cannot possibly exist is exactly what prevents it from existing.

I haven’t got the hang of it yet… I realised last night I was scrambling towards the opposite of happiness because it felt safe. I realised I was trying to save something that drained me, made me feel less than the miracle maker that I am, just because my most precious dream is showing no signs of manifesting (if it did I would jump without hesitation into the abyss of bliss). So I asked Big G this morning, “God, help me to be brave enough to risk it all for happiness.”

…and then I went out and rescued what I already had, just in case He isn’t quick enough with the answer. (Principle 3: I AM Human)!

Be braver than me, stop heading towards the opposite of happiness.

Saturday Oracle – Free Your Mind From Worry

Worry is the single most useless type of thought process you can apply your mind to, and yet it is also a fairly universal preference. I say preference because we have a choice, and if we have a choice and still choose worry then surely it’s because we prefer it? Isn’t it time to free your mind?

This week’s combination includes Principle 5: I AM Liberated, the affirmation of letting yourself out of a prison born of matter with the highly spiritual violet crown chakra. These two are are a prescription for remedial action where worry is concerned.

So the potential for the week ahead then is finding yourself being drawn into negative thought patterns and false beliefs about something or someone, that have been keeping you locked into your current set of circumstances and unable to move forward. It’s important to get to grips with the fact that neither the object nor the individual have any power over you, it is your thoughts about the subject that control your action or inaction.

Interrupting the worry habit is key to rectifying the detrimental effects on your physical and emotional life and there are a few ways you can do that… this particular combination is recommending meditation as an antidote, distraction is another that simply takes you filling idle time where your mind has too much opportunity to wander back to the familiar, with concentrated effort or new learning.

Worry is usually about loss of some kind, whether that be loss of material attachments, loss of status, loss of comfort, loss of tribal bonds and relationships, loss of reputation, loss of health and finally loss of life. Worry won’t fix any of those things and that’s why finding perspective through witnessing your life from a higher platform during meditation can help you firstly release your mental and emotional grip on whatever recurring thought has you held prisoner, and secondly will allow your higher self to switch you to solution based deliberation.

You may not actually be in danger of losing the object of your apparent distress at all and in that case the energy you expend fretting about it may be causing issues of its own.

All 7 Wholly Grail Principles are free to view on my website for a better understanding of how this philosophy works to find peace and freedom in your own life.

Can You Care Too Much?

Monday’s feel like a good day to explore further the message that the weekend’s oracle provides for the days ahead, so hang with me to unlock the reason why the truth is so difficult. Ask yourself: can you care too much?

Truth was big on the agenda in Saturday’s reading and it strikes me that we all manage to hide absolute truth behind a wall built of fear. Fear of being seen as less than we pretend to portray, fear of loss, fear of rejection, fear of abandonment etc. but mostly this fear is an unconscious pattern that until explored remains a faceless feeling of unease that is squashed down and hidden in the closet by a lie, an exaggeration, an embellishment or an omission. The truth, we believe, will expose us and make us vulnerable.

The answer is that yes, we can care too much. But about what?

Outcomes, certainty and prediction, all the reasons we read oracles, see psychics and send ourselves half insane is to do with the human ego’s attempt to pin down the future, to be sure. “If I do A will it lead me to Z?”

But what happens when you stop caring?

When you disconnect from the need to know where all this is leading and detach from the destination (so much as to simply allow Source to lead you into whatever happens next with an open mind and an open heart), you put your inner gremlins back to bed because they have nothing left to protect you from. For example: when you give up the need for someone to like you or agree with you because you’re no longer invested in anything but the well-being of all parties, suddenly you open up a window for honest communication. Offending someone is no longer an obstacle because the primary objective becomes understanding, which can only come from genuine listening in equal measure to authentic speech… two way dialogue.

Imagine how different your conversations would be during your workday if you weren’t subconsciously sabotaging yourself and fudging reality because you were afraid your boss might not like you, or your colleagues might not invite you to the after work get-together.

Detach from your hidden agendas today by being ruthlessly honest with yourself first about what you are really withholding the truth for, and who from?… maybe it’s you?

Wholly Grail Principle 2: I AM Detached.

Tiptoe On A Knife Edge

Balance is in full focus today as we arrive at the Spring Equinox (autumn if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere) that seemed to creep up on us whilst we were occupied with everything and nothing. One of two points in the calendar where the light and the darkness share precisely the same amount of moments and we pivot towards a new dominance. As we tiptoe on a knife edge seasonally, so too do we have an emotional choice to make… do we favour the darkness or the light.

The oracle combination I pulled at the weekend mirrored this shift from healthy exploration into potential addition and sets the scene for this post. Though it appears at first glance to have a sinister undertone it is in fact an invitation to understand that within you exists that point of perfect balance, liminal space, neither light nor dark, just sublime equilibrium, a pause between breaths, when you are neither one thing nor the other and power runs through you without resistance or hindrance… and then trust, faith, belief and innocence give way to fear on this knife edge… fear of falling.

When you fear something you create it.

Where you had balance you resorted to your conditioned state of believing that you needed something to maintain it, that someone might try to take it from you and you must protect it. And in that moment you veer to the left or to the right and the sharp line you were treading begins to wobble as you flail about trying to regain your centre but falling at this stage is inevitable… just as surely as tomorrow the light, the daylight hours will gain ground in the north and the darkness or night will take back dominion over the south.

It’s a subtle shift, a tilt you may not notice at first, but opposing forces must continue to circle around each other so that the elaborate game of life goes on.

Take time to honour and notice the shift within. Whatever state you are moving from or to emotionally, physically, intellectually, geographically… what ever area of your personal experience is evolving, observe, respect and bless this point of transition.

Take a moment today to assess where you’re at. Don’t panic, don’t struggle, balance will be restored naturally when you relax and trust that you are exactly where you need to be. Principle 2: I AM Detached will help you stay present with what is and Principle 7: I AM Open-Hearted allows giving and receiving in equal measure… or in other words: perfect balance.
