That One Thing You Do

(Reposted from July 5th)

I’ve been exploring for myself the polar opposites of resistance and receptivity over the last couple of days and its thrown up some evidence of the route to what can only be described as my joy zone.

I don’t know that I ever really saw it as a tangible thing before, a place even, but I’ve noticed that it has distinct walls and boundaries like a huge castle with a drawbridge, a moat and everything. Imagine if you will the very tentative steps you might take across the rickety wooden, (rotten in some places) bridge, over a muddy moat full of goodness knows what, obviously an analogy for your deep emotions, some of which are hidden even from you; passing beneath a gargantuan rusting portcullis that noisily begins to lower as you enter into this space that is protected from that stuff on the outside.

Does this sound like the joy zone or does it sound like a giant prison of your own making and not much fun at all?

That one thing you do – that image that you create – that scene that you set, it’s the difference between resistance to the journey and receptivity of the adventure… The difference between opening your heart to the unknown or running from it… The difference between finding the joy or embracing the fear.

Imagine now if you will a huge bouncy castle, a rainbow of sunny colours making up its walls. It is afloat at the centre of an azure blue swimming pool, the drawbridge is made from plastic inflatable stepping stones that threaten to tip you splashing into the blue beneath if you so much as put one foot wrong… The bouncy castle sports a plastic zip up entry flap to keep its guests from falling out all over the place which will be securely fastened the moment you cross its threshold…

Now tell me the truth… you’ve already got your swimming costume on haven’t you?

The scene has exactly the same elements: castle, walls, sealed gate, precarious crossing and deep water… but add some colour to your imagination and the joy zone is much more enticing.

The joy zone is a place inside your mind, the external conditions are accepted or rejected according to how you perceive from your current state of receptivity… i.e. you add the colour.

I’ve got to admit, my castle isn’t always bouncy but that doesn’t mean I won’t find joy in it… if you are looking for joy, you will find it… providing you’re looking past the external conditions towards that one thing you do.

New Life Begins With Death

Easter is almost upon us and I may be a little early but it feels right to me to be talking about new beginnings.

I began this year with an intention to create a life I didn’t feel the need to escape from, a life filled with joy and peace and love, that didn’t require a vacation to recover from it’s stresses however many times a year. I set off by announcing to my friends, especially the ones I usually travel with, that this year I wasn’t booking anything… not because I don’t intend to travel but because I feel the need to reconsider my reasons for doing so… I’m creating a life that’s built on discovery rather than escape, a life where I run to, not from.

In order to create this, which you must understand is quite an undertaking from where I was to where I want to be, I needed to take this year to stand and face those things I spent years attempting to escape, mostly though, I needed to face myself, my fears and my false assumptions about who I am.

The oracle at the weekend was all about owning who you are, what you want, and your expectations. It embraced Principle 5: I AM Liberated, which is focused primarily on freedom from material attachments but is more importantly about the stuff that you grip onto causing you to miss out on the stuff you really want.

New life begins with death. If you dream of being something different then you must let die who you were. If you dream of financial abundance then you must let die the things that drain your flow of abundance, if you dream of the perfect relationship then you must let die the dysfunctional connections that stand in your way, if you dream of amazing health and vitality then you must let die the counter-productive habits that thwart your progress, and if you want the perfect career that inspires you everyday to be creative and have fun, then you must let die the small self and step into your purpose.

I’m making real progress. Will I be done within a year? Does it matter? Creating a perfect life is a lifelong project, like I said, I don’t need to escape from the process because the process of creation is the process of living the perfect life.

Let the old you die, she’s served her time. Your new life is already here.

Saturday Oracle – You Achieve What You Believe

The trend continues in this week’s group oracle reading as Principle 4: I AM Truth matches up with the currently popular indigo of the 3rd eye or brow chakra bringing back into focus (excuse the pun) your visioning process.

Having undone the shackles of last week’s post its now time to redefine what you believe is possible in order to realign your manifesting potential with your ultimate dreams.

Truth is a subjective topic. What feels true for me may not feel true for you and so it is important at this time that the world you are creating in your mind is built upon your own personal ideals rather than what someone else tells you to believe, or you think they would like you to believe. It’s by aligning your intentions with your authentic self, the process of creation takes off at speed and you begin to be propelled into the universal flow of miracles.

Get clear this week on a few things: Who you truly are, who you truly want to become, what your hopes and dreams are, what you would really like to create, build or achieve… then, once you have gotten the basics straight in your mind, turn your attention to highlighting where you have been living someone else’s truth. The decisions you’ve been making that are pulling you in the direction of another’s vision of what would be best for you are probably taking you away from your highest good. It’s easy to see where you are not in alignment with your authentic life because that’s where you feel unhappiness, that’s where the obstacles are densest and your momentum is blocked, that’s where life is stagnating and you’re being held apart from your most amazing adventures.

Get busy with the ground work this week… you owe it to yourself to be clear about what you are co-creating with Source, and as soon as you are, and as soon as it matches your authentic vibration, He’s going to pull out all the stops and line up all the synchronicities to get you there… your cosmic limo awaits, so you better know exactly where you want it to deliver you.

More next week… x
