Do you focus on the obstacles or the way around them? This was the question I had to ask myself this morning when preparing to write a Grail insight.
Interestingly, I was the obstacle to my own motivation this morning when I awoke feeling a little out of sorts having witnessed a movie style dream scenario, no doubt unearthing deeply routed truths about my inner workings and the current state of my external life. The obstacle was an obvious Law of Attraction faux pas, I was focused on how I felt not how I wanted to feel.
My thoughts were dictating the direction my day was going and though a part of me was giving in to the momentum of going nowhere fast, my overall goals did not exist along that particular path. My goals being to feel joy, passion, fulfilment, inspiration and excitement in every moment from here on out. The goals had to be the motivation.
Choosing to look beyond the obstacle is often the most effective way of allowing Source to show you the route around or through it, creating a simply and swift path to the destination whereas when you look directly at the very thing that is stopping you from moving forward that will eventually become all you can see. I’m not suggesting that you slip into denial about the potential setbacks along the path… they are meant to keep the journey interesting, to provide challenge and diversity in the day to day of things but there’s a big difference between acknowledging what’s in the way and obsessing over it.
So what if the obstacle is you?
When what you want is a big enough ‘why?’ and the benefits to shifting into a higher gear outweigh the familiarity holding you back then you start to create the formula for revolution.
Use a visual trigger to remind you… I know vision boards are becoming a bit common place but there’s a reason for that. Stick some motivational quotes on the fridge door, get some pictures that represent your intentions, start describing your desired adventure and start taking small steps towards your new world.
Today I have mundane tasks to complete that don’t seem to have the potential to drive me forward… or do they? My goals as I said are to feel joy, passion, fulfilment, inspiration and excitement in every moment… so my mundane chores (done with a happy heart) are about to be the key to all those feelings… now let’s start with a magical walk through the enchanted forest just to buy some milk!
Look past the problem and witness the potential and remember that Principle 4: I AM Truth is an ever growing entity… “I reserve the right to evolve!”
More later… x
