Tiptoe On A Knife Edge

Balance is in full focus today as we arrive at the Spring Equinox (autumn if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere) that seemed to creep up on us whilst we were occupied with everything and nothing. One of two points in the calendar where the light and the darkness share precisely the same amount of moments and we pivot towards a new dominance. As we tiptoe on a knife edge seasonally, so too do we have an emotional choice to make… do we favour the darkness or the light.

The oracle combination I pulled at the weekend mirrored this shift from healthy exploration into potential addition and sets the scene for this post. Though it appears at first glance to have a sinister undertone it is in fact an invitation to understand that within you exists that point of perfect balance, liminal space, neither light nor dark, just sublime equilibrium, a pause between breaths, when you are neither one thing nor the other and power runs through you without resistance or hindrance… and then trust, faith, belief and innocence give way to fear on this knife edge… fear of falling.

When you fear something you create it.

Where you had balance you resorted to your conditioned state of believing that you needed something to maintain it, that someone might try to take it from you and you must protect it. And in that moment you veer to the left or to the right and the sharp line you were treading begins to wobble as you flail about trying to regain your centre but falling at this stage is inevitable… just as surely as tomorrow the light, the daylight hours will gain ground in the north and the darkness or night will take back dominion over the south.

It’s a subtle shift, a tilt you may not notice at first, but opposing forces must continue to circle around each other so that the elaborate game of life goes on.

Take time to honour and notice the shift within. Whatever state you are moving from or to emotionally, physically, intellectually, geographically… what ever area of your personal experience is evolving, observe, respect and bless this point of transition.

Take a moment today to assess where you’re at. Don’t panic, don’t struggle, balance will be restored naturally when you relax and trust that you are exactly where you need to be.
