Bank Holiday Monday Mental Manoeuvre – Neutral Mind

Something inside me triggered when I did the oracle reading at the weekend. It was a sort of underlying anticipation of the outcome ready to be revealed. This feeling of uncertainty, excitement and a fierce need to know are all so familiar to me… and all so unproductive, uncomfortable and power draining. If like me, your inner control freak has had its interest peaked by the unfolding of a prediction or longed for hope or dream, then you ┬áreally need to get this.

Action taken to coerce, pressure, or hurry God’s timetable will result in delay, disappointment and dissatisfaction.

Applying a neutral mind however, allows a space for the universe to reveal the treasure it has amassed on your behalf without you narrowing the field of opportunities in how that delivery might take place. A neutral mind is an open mind, a fertile space for growth of knowledge and wisdom.

It’s your job to simply observe, listen, experience.

Principle 2: I AM Detached, is at the heart of this mental adjustment and involves stepping back from the game and watching how the next bit evolves… a bit like planting a seed. You give it soil, water and warm sunlight: optimum growing conditions, but ultimately it must grow of its own accord and on it’s own or God’s schedule. You have no control over how it eventually flowers or even if it will, but as you observe it break through the soil into the light you revel in the seedlings progress, maintain caring for it’s needs and provide for its survival but you cannot force it to grow nor give it a deadline.

This moment has information in it. This moment is teaching you something of great importance… is it patience? Is it acceptance? Perhaps it is teaching you to take your focus off the seedling and broaden your perspective to enjoy the whole garden?

Whatever it is that you are narrowly focusing on, whether it is a new relationship, a job opportunity, a potential project, etc, know that you can be happy now if you understand that this bit, “the in between bit,” “the neither here nor there bit” is every bit as much a part of your unfolding experience as the final reveal. You will have benefited from the journey whether the outcome is as you’d hoped or not.

It doesn’t matter how this turns out, I’m thoroughly enjoying witnessing the performance be it comedy or tragedy… it’s only drama if I’m overly invested. Principle 7: I AM Open-Hearted, is love without strings… that means the seedling can grow or not as it chooses. It is loved, respected and appreciated anyway. We all get 10 out of 10 for just taking part whether we win, lose or draw.

Whatever form your seedling takes, leave room in your neutral mind for it to grow (if it wants to).

More later… x
