Stuck Between Floors

The old world, the one you once called home, the one where the inhabitants were ushered here and there day by day; heads down, unaware of the injustice visited upon them by the shepherds of the self proclaimed utopia; once you raised your eyes from your feet and the pavement in front of you and stepped out of line, sneaking past the guard who had been equally as brainwashed into believing he was protecting some kind of social order… that world to which you once belonged when you were asleep, is now an alien place to you.

They know you are no longer entranced. To go back there is not an option.

The new world, the one with an army more equipped with technology, fire power, resources and subterfuge, the one you imagined you might infiltrate to see what was really going on, that place is terrifying to you… to be a sheep or a wolf? You can survive for so long being an evolved sheep in wolf’s clothing, there are those who won’t bat an eyelid as you carefully manoeuvre through this dangerous territory… after all you look the part, you talk the talk… but you smell like a lamb to the slaughter and you don’t know the ropes here. What do you do? You can’t stay, it’s not safe… and you certainly can’t go home…

Home?

Change is enormously distressing even when you know it’s necessary. Enlightenment, means change. Like stepping into an elevator at the ground floor and pressing the button to ascend only to find that you become stuck between floors. The time in that space can be a frantic grapple to get to a place of safety but you have no real understanding of what safety is, simply because the floor below you stifles your newly open receptors but the floor above seems just as uninspiring and full of pretenders with hidden secrets…

Where is home?

The elevator is your friend. The gentle background music and the reassuring voice “lift going up.” This isolation is not a trap.

You aren’t stuck, the small box in which you are shielded, raising you far beyond the only floors you believed existed will deposit you in its own sweet time to a place so far beyond the drab, way past the shiny and garish, into a place where sheep and wolves transform through Grace into genuinely beautiful individuals who will open their arms to accept you as the magical doors open… and for the first time you will know that you’ve truly arrived home.

Hold your nerve, don’t get off until you reach your floor… you belong much higher than ever dared believe.
