R is for…

th (1)

So here it is, the day when the beautiful pear tree finally bears fruit and you can at last taste what you have been labouring over…

R is for… reward, or is it responsibility? Perhaps revelation? Oh wait, what about review? All the above are true of attaining your goal, your ripe fruit as it were. Let’s undress each one in turn.

The law of compensation states that whatsoever you ask for, believing, you shall receive. What that means is provided you keep focused on that goal and keep taking measured steps towards it, it or something way cooler will inevitably show up for you in divine right timing so R is definitely for reward. Remember gratitude is the universal lubricant so having received your “prize pear” representative of whatever your heart desires, revel in it, honour it and take care of it… which brings me nicely to the next R: responsibility…

Bringing something to life, anything, is an act of co-creation with God. That new life needs tending and nurturing just as you began growing this pear by tending and nurturing yourself in order to ensure you were up to the task ahead. Taking responsibility for your creations is about love and about ensuring your pear doesn’t rot on the tree. If your goal was a successful business it will only stay successful if you focus your attention on it, if it was a new relationship, it will only continue to flower if you continue to add sweetness and affection to your partner and allow the relationship to become an entity of its own. If you were manifesting a beautifully honed body it will only stay in shape if you maintain your daily practice or exercise, if your dream was a new born baby, how long do you think it will survive without your care, attention and vigilance? Receiving a beautiful gift is an honour, but if you worked hard for it then now is not the time to stop.

It isn’t what you thought it would be is it? R is for… revelation too, simply because your idea has been carefully crafted not just by you but by Divine hands and God has so much more flair than we could ever imagine… whilst we set out to create what we feel we need now, God is fully focused on setting up the next lesson and for this reason with every successful completion of a project comes a revelation, something unexpected for you to consider and a new journey or goal to undertake… and that brings us nicely to review…

R is for… review because now you’ve got what you asked for, worked for and sacrificed for, now new information has arrived, it’s going to take a period of adjustment. Some people get to this stage and think they’ve made a big mistake because post-pear life will never be the same, how can it be? Maybe you were more of a lover-of-the-chase than actually wanting the prize itself and all that goes with it, maybe the law of consequence is far more powerful than the law of compensation. None of that matters now. Review is about assessing your current position and determining the next goal… after all, pear trees fruit every year…

What, did you really think you were done?

A is for…

th (1)

We’ve negotiated our way through preparation and exploration on our mission to get this tree to bare fruit or more precisely our long term dream or goal to take priority and finally be made manifest in the physical world instead of just our minds. If you’ve been following the pear over the last few posts you will know that the emphasis is on you… your dream, your priority… Self-Full Living is a skill and a process, and we sometimes have to ease ourselves in when we’re out of practice, but right now the energy current is one of a cosmic quickening surging towards a pinnacle opportunity which if grasped will deliver your fulfilment, but that requires you to give of yourself, to risk the unknown and to gamble what appears to be security for the promise of something unpredictable.

A is for… Action!

In preparing we were fuelling and healing the physical body to be ready for the task ahead, in exploring we weighed up the options; so now you have a map, the training and stamina, and now your marathon can begin.

Taking action is the scariest part, this where the tree goes from blossoming to baring fruit, without this stage the blossom merely whithers in the bud. What action can you take today that miraculously transforms your life goal from a lovely idea to a tangible possibility?

You may be prone to procrastination, excuses, abandonment or reconsideration of your plan when it comes to the action part, but it’s not a rotten or bitter fruit you want to create, is it? The first step is bound to be the hardest but a baby trying to walk for the first time doesn’t give up before they’ve started and certainly isn’t deterred by the odd fall. If you don’t know what actions to take then perhaps first of all you can swap out your A for ‘advice’ at least until the path becomes clear… but make no mistake, action stands between you and your goal… and its a beautiful goal.

The Homecoming

Grail Oracle 2Grail Oracle Green

You’re struggling to determine a baseline for your emotions right now. One minute you’re excited to try something new and the next moment you’re terrified, first you’re ecstatic and then you’re the public face of depression… you are desperately trying to reconcile the two disparate parts but to no avail and it’s the fight to change the state of mind or indeed to deny or define it that is causing you to suffer this way.

Change is a constant, but it doesn’t necessarily happen at a constant rate. When circumstances arrange a quantum shift either internally or externally, the sudden departure from the known creates struggle.

Imagine if you will for a moment that you have God’s perspective, nothing is out of place from this viewpoint. The divine comedy/tragedy is playing out as per the script and the players are right on cue… enter stage left the next exciting development, exit stage right the beloved main storyline. This emotional baseline I was talking about was calibrated to the old story and God wants you to know that your current discomfort, your current resistance, is based solely upon your dependence on what was, your fear of what will be and most importantly your blindness to what is.

Right now you have an opportunity to create an amazing scene that will shape the rest of your personal story simply by letting go of that fear, accepting the temporary discomfort whilst the set and backdrop are rearranged and understanding that everything that we deem normal today was once new.

The Homecoming combines Principle 2: I AM Detached with the healing green of the heart centre… when this combination strikes, a time of retreat is warranted. Not a running and hiding kind of retreat but a withdrawal within where stillness lies amid the chaos. This blessed haven of balance and peace will restore you while ever you reach for love and turn from fear.

The sun continues to rise and fall and as they say: “This too shall pass.” Joy will follow if you let it.

E is for…

th (1)

Exit apparently! No, seriously, E is for… exploration.

After we touched on the subject of Principle 6: I AM Self-Full and the readjustment of focus back towards your own major life goals in the last couple of posts, and particularly the need to prepare yourself for the task ahead regardless of the potential future obstacles that you may encounter that you have no control over, it’s now time to look at the pear (the goal), in fact the whole pear tree from a different angle.

Exploration in this case is about seeking out what feels right for you and indeed understanding what your options are. What’s right for you… again a Self-Full not selfish action. Fulfilling one’s own needs and emotional, spiritual and physical requirements isn’t about being independent its about being autonomous and responsible for at least your own part in your life story (I say your part because your life story is far from devoid of other characters) but if you reach the end and you didn’t at least do everything you could to reach your goals then you will leave this life with regrets, and how sad would that be? So first define your “pear,” (the goal) then prepare yourself in mind, body and spirit for the journey towards it and then start the exploration of options.

If your pear was Mount Everest, or reaching it’s summit, you would first have to consider how you’d like to climb it, right? There are many paths to climb a mountain and Everest had more than one face. Sure, people are going to tell you, your unorthodox choice is impossible and you should settle for a tried and tested route but will that be the best route for YOU? You’re going to have to choose a guide. Some look better than others, some have more ornate base camps, flashy stationery and better insurance, but the old local guy in the furs has lived with the mountain his entire life so ask yourself what the goal is again: is it to get to the top of the mountain or to ensure your family get a good pay out when you fall off or get crushed under an avalanche?… Oh yes, get to the top of the mountain, (and safely back down of course). So explore your options and ensure you choose those options through love and not fear, through passion for the project. Whatever your pear may actually represent, there is a reason it grew upon your tree and to allow that fruit to rot or become windfall because somebody else’s dream or goal got in the way or because you were too afraid to try would be tragic.

P is for Preparation. Your preparation can continue through this process as now you have more specific information and can tailor and hone the physical prep.

E is for Exploration…

Be Self-Full today and I’ll back on Monday with the next instalment, meanwhile tomorrow is Oracle day so look out for that post.

P is for…

th (1)

P is for… preparation is the best place to start when it comes to achieving anything. In this case the preparation I’m referring to is the preparation of self. In Wholly Grail terms this means ensuring that the proverbial cup is full so that it may fuel your journey and further more, overflow to help others in theirs.

On Monday I introduced you to the “Symbol of My Success” which takes the form of a pear tree bearing one singular fruit. This fruit represents my ultimate goal in life and its re-emergence in my psyche shows that its time to add momentum to that dream and that this is the perfect time to take guided steps towards achieving it… but am I prepared?

Principle 6: I AM Self-Full is a concept which follows the rule of fulfilling your own needs first. This attitude seems alien to many because we associate this idea with being selfish, especially if we are carers for others, this includes mums, dads, nurses, doctors, teachers, kids with elderly or infirm parents, even pet owners… most of us in fact have to care for others in some way, at some point during our lives… this is a good thing: inter-relating is the primary trigger for human development and besides, life would be tragic if we didn’t care for and about each other, but this alien concept of me-before-you has us feeling guilty for taking a moment for ourselves to care about the greatest asset you possess: your body, mind and spirit… the component parts that make up this particular incarnation of you.

Preparation this week includes taking a look at the obstacles between you and your goal that exist within you and then making a plan and taking action to address each one… here’s what I mean :

If it’s yourself to run a marathon but you are overweight and seriously unfit and have never run even for a bus, then you need to get on a healthy eating plan and start with some gentle stretches and supervised cardio, right?

If you have a passion for interior design and want to decorate your home (or someone else’s) but you can’t climb a ladder or hold your arms above your head  long enough to hang wallpaper then you better take up yoga to improve strength, flexibility and balance… makes sense.

If your dream is to become a mum then you need to make sure your body is in tip top shape not just for the strain that pregnancy will put you under but also for the sleepless nights to come and the endless games of hidee- boo and piggyback you’ll be playing after that!

These are only examples of physical preparation for your journey, later we can discuss the mental and emotional steps to Self-Full Living, for today though, just ask yourself: “Is it just a dream or am I willing to take the necessary steps to bring it to life?” And then ask: “Am I physically capable of the task?”

The answer “no” should be an indication of the next step on your path…

Symbol of My Success

Many years ago when I first began my formal spiritual education, my then teacher, a wise old bird by the name of Janet instructed me and a group of fellow meditatees (not sure that’s even a word but I like it) to plant a seed symbolically in our minds that each time we entered a visualisation we should water, nurture, care for and tend. After several weeks most of the group had grown various beautiful flowers but me, I managed unintentionally to grow a mighty tree. Now you might imagine it was a sturdy oak as that’s an obvious statement of strength, health, longevity and ancient wisdom but no, mine was a pear tree.

This tree grew strong and contained many messages for me, for example often I would visit the tree and a ribbon would be tied around the trunk, the colour of which, as a colour therapist, had varied and poignant meanings. Wildlife used the tree as a haven and they too provided wisdom through their totem interpretations, all of which helped to shape and guide my growth and development. The most significant symbol within that sacred tree though was one solitary pear… the idea that my hard work would pay off and bare fruit.

The health, strength and even the survival of that magnificent pear tree were totally at my mercy in those early days and this week the tree has shown up for me again, bearing a single pear and asking for me to nurture its growth. It’s roots are strong, its grown exponentially in stature and that singular fruit is my only true goal… but to bring that fruit into reality I now have to mirror the techniques of watering, caring, nurturing and tending first for myself and then for my goal, that it too may bare fruit.

That pear has always been the symbol of my success.

This week I’m intending to let the pear be my guide as I explore with you simple steps to Self-Full Living, that you may also be watered, nurtured, cared for and tended… refuelled and ready to bring your goals into the light.

Are you ready for a week of exploring Principle 6: I AM Self-Full?

Proof of Purpose

Grail Oracle 2Grail Oracle Indigo

Just a few short weeks ago we saw this combination in The Momentary Mirage when our attention was being drawn to a longed for dream and the glimpse of the joy it might bring. This week Principle 2: I AM Detached, teams up with the intense indigo of the brow or 3rd eye chakra once again to reassert your priority of action needed to set that dream in motion.

You may feel a resurfacing of optimism with regards to a project or plan over the next few days and along with it a sense of urgency. It’s essential that you stay grounded and focus on the practical steps you can take, actioning each one at the optimum time even if at present you don’t see how to bring your plan into the light . There may be a tendency to panic and flap about aimlessly due to the overwhelming feeling of a looming deadline and that there are still missing pieces that you don’t yet understand, but be assured that though the cherished dream still appears out of reach, the steps you take today will place you in a position of readiness for when that miracle takes place. Now is good time to utilise the full moon energy combined with the summer solstice (both due on Monday), one of the pivot points of the year, to catapult you towards success.

Ask yourself: if your dream happened today what would you need to do, be and have in place?  Are you prepared, physically, emotionally, environmentally? Is your health at optimum levels to take full advantage of the joyous celebration that is to come and so that you are capable of doing your part? Have you made space in your home, life, schedule and even in your heart?

Because this energy curve is pushing you to stop procrastinating, you must have a clear picture of the goal in mind and you must not under any circumstances get caught up in trying to decipher the parts of the puzzle you cannot control, that’s what it means to stay detached from the outcome. It isn’t that you don’t care about how or when the dream comes to fruition, it is simply that you are surrendering control to a higher power so that you can focus your entire will upon the part that you must play now.

This wake-up call is Proof of Purpose… understand that this is not just a dream, it’s a Divine mission. Your soul’s yearning is pulling you towards a pre-written destiny that only God truly understands and the urge to fulfil that desire is what drives you… drives you forward, drives you on and even drives you mad.

You’ve got work to do… something’s coming and it’s what you’ve been waiting for… the goal beyond the goal, the grand prize… if you aren’t ready it will walk on by.

No pressure.

Beauty and Symmetry

Change is a good thing. When you have been hanging upside down in a tree for days like the hanged man in a tarot deck, then change is a welcome release from the stagnation and seeming lack of control over your situation whatever that change may be… let’s call it welcome release. But what about when you’re in the middle of change, will it still seem like a good thing?

As a species we are a contradictory bunch (or is that contrary? No matter). We want it, then when it comes we complain at the speed at which it arrives, the turmoil it creates in our oh, so comfortable lives… we want something new but without consequences, compromises and without having to sacrifice for it… well don’t we?

So, familiarity breeds contempt and a change is as good as a rest, but better the devil you know?… I love cliches simply because they are so contradictory… just like us. My favourite one is “out of sight, out of mind” it butts up nicely against its polarity “absence makes the heart grow fonder.”

Are you starting to build up a picture about the human condition and its apparent inability to be content with what is? This too is a good thing because though it causes unrest in the individual, it also fuels evolution and evolve we must.

Today, in amongst all that discontent, whether you are stagnating in the same place or situation that has held you captive for an age or spinning out of control on a journey to goodness knows what next, whether life deals you the hanged man or the ever turning wheel of fortune, take a few moments to appreciate the beauty and symmetry of the ebb and flow… “the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” as Hamlet so poetically phrased it. Deliberately count your many blessings and come back to what is true for today.

Remember that if the Grail cup stayed full, the contents would eventually also go stagnant…  let life ebb and flow as it will.

Principle 2: I AM Detached

More later… x

Irreconcilable, Inconceivable Even

We attempt an analytical approach to unfathomable situations mostly because it’s the rational mind’s function to compute. Acceptance and allowing are concepts native to the opposite side, the receptive side of the brain. Acceptance is easy when the calculation amounts to a satisfactory conclusion but when the requisite parts don’t add up then reconciliation, i.e. closure doesn’t come and getting your head or more precisely your left brain hemisphere (the logical side) around that is like getting a computer to stop calculating the unsolvable mathematical equation you asked it to do.

One of my favourite programmes growing up was “The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy” and I remember the super computer, affectionately named “Deep Thought” being given an equation to solve… one question kept it occupied for thousands of years and it just kept computing and calculating… the question: “What is the answer to life, the universe and everything?” Thousands if not millions of years later it came up with the answer: “42” ( good old Douglas Adams).

The incessant drive to find answers is an admirable trait of the human psyche but not necessarily one that’s conducive to inner peace. Not all questions have answers, that’s irreconcilable, inconceivable even to the logical mind but to the part of you that is Divine there never was any question… all is, was and ever more shall be exactly as it’s meant to be.

The logical mind, like a child will try to understand… “Why?” will be it’s favourite word and no explanation will quench its thirst until it hears what it wants to hear to make the jigsaw pieces fit together, until the loose ends are tied and the uncertainty has been stored in pretty little boxes. Have compassion for the child but interrupt the calculation with a new programme: “I have faith that God knows the answer and I have faith enough in myself to feel complete without it.” …or of course if that doesn’t work you could always just go with 42!

Principle 3: I AM Human

The Trappings of a Peaceful Life

What is peace?

Perhaps peace is the ability to rise above the external turmoil or to stay centred in the midst of it? Perhaps it is the skill of allowing that turmoil to carry you, knowing full well it will pass? Life is a process made simpler by withdrawing from drama but isn’t the rollercoaster exactly what we came here to ride?

For each individual the trappings of a peaceful life are very different simply because we have varied tolerances for sensory input and stimulation. We have different expectations and physiologies, different attitudes, hopes and dreams.

As individual as every human fingerprint is the external search for inner peace… but the internal search, the only space in which a truly peaceful experience can be tapped, is universal…

We all need to feel safe, warm, sheltered, loved, heard, honoured and respected. When we do these things for ourselves they become an inside job and inner peace ensues. When we share these things with others we become family.

Today, everything that you need to feel peaceful, offer to someone else. You are the bringer of miracles and the most powerful creator in your own universe, if you can create peace – become peace.

Principle 1: I AM God
